Heavy people need to be careful as many rebounders will not be responsive enough for those that are heavier than the tensile strength will allow to do the Health Bounce. Heavier people tend to put a higher yield on the springs so that there is less pop and more of a throw at the bottom of the bounce. At the bottom of the bounce if there is too much weight this can mean the difference between bottoming out or a pop at the bottom of the bounce. Once all the tiers of springs are stretched out there is no more spring to give that pop that the Health Bounce should have. Heavier people also tend to get less bounces per minute as they have deeper decelerations.
Another problem with heavier people using rebounders is if the person is not on the right rebounder for them the deep deceleration allows for inversion of the ankles. This pronations of the ankles can make someone not want to rebound once it starts to hurt their ankles and knees over time. For heavier people, I strongly recommend a single purpose rebounder as the single tiered spring doesn’t allow for deep bounces that the larger springs have. For heavier users that want to exercise and looking for a multi purpose rebounder I would recommend the Cellerciser. The single purpose rebounders that I would promote as having the highest tensile strength for a heavier user would be the Health Circulator or the Lymphaciser.
