The Need rebounder is a multi purpose rebounder. It has the softest bounce of all the rebounders (when jumping high) as it engages nearly all the springs. For those that want to change springs every year or two to keep up the tensile and yield strength high, this is a great rebounder. It does have more deceleration than just say the Cellerciser but much less than the Health Circulator that is designed just for the Health Bounce.
The springs weight about 92 grams (Cellerciser springs weigh about 106 grams each). Although the springs are much cheaper to replace, for those that don’t mind spending the time each year to change them to keep close to the initial tensile strength, many people may want to consider this before buying. It is a great multi purpose rebounder for those that don’t mind the maintenance and time involved.
As far as jarring, there is no jarring but it does throw me towards the center more than a triple tiered type like the Cellerciser.
As far as price, it is much cheaper than the Cellerciser which is our best rebounder in the multi purpose category. For those that want a soft bounce during the first 18 months you will get it with the Need rebounder. For those that have tried it after 18 months of everyday use, you can see in some of the videos how a too high of yield and a loss of tensile strength affects the softness of the bounce.
As far as noise, the weight of their springs are less than the Cellerciser so it can have a high pitch squeak noise than the Cellerciser. For those buying the Needak I strongly urge people to get their springs coated with Graphite, not oil. This should take all the squeakiness out.
As far as smell, it does not have a naughahyde cover like the Cellerciser. It has vinyl which some people don’t like the off gassing smell. For those that don’t want a foam backing under the cover may also take that into consideration if chemically sensitive. The paint is powder coated so it does not chip off like the earlier models. It also is lead free unlike some of the cheap ones that have lead in the paint.
I would change the feet on the legs that are rubber. This does have a smell unlike the polymer feet that have no off gassing. The Cellerciser feet are 4 dollars each and many people get them switched out since they fit the Needak rebounder. It weighs about 25 pounds and is lighter than the Cellerciser.
Overall, the Needak rebounder is my 2nd best rebounder I have reviewed. For those that cannot afford the Cellerciser, this is a great choice. Take my rebounder questionnaire to see if this rebounder is right for you.
